On Saturday we all attended a Applebee's Nurse Out. Around 2000 breastfeeding supporters gathered in 44 states at 100 Applebee’s to demonstrate support of breastfeeding in public.
It all started when a mother at an Applebee's in Kentucky was asked to cover up while breastfeeding her baby, in direct violation of Kentucky law, claiming other customers were complaining.
Applebee's responded with “…we are also considering keeping blankets in the restaurants for use by breastfeeding mothers who might not readily have them available….”
As a result of our Nurse Out, our Applebee's will now move the offended customer instead of interfering with a nursing mother!
We really did make a difference!

“I think its absolutely ludicrous that the woman was asked to leave and cover herself up just because she was doing what nature said she should do,” said 27-year-old protestor and father of four Tim Fitzpatrick.
